Delhi Daredevils players represent the Delhi franchise for the Indian Premier League (IPL). Its bid was won by GMR Group, for $84 million.

Delhi Daredevils Delhi Daredevils, owned by GMR Group (based in Bangalore), represents the Delhi franchise for the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise was auctioned off for $84 million and plays its home matches in the Feroz Shah Kotla ground, located in New Delhi. Virender Sehwag is the captain of the team, also its 'Icon' status player and Greg Shipperd, from Australia, is the head coach. IPL Delhi Daredevils team has Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar as its brand ambassador. The colors of the team are navy blue and red.

In the first season of IPL i.e. 2008, Delhi Daredevils finished the round-robin portion with a record of 7-6. It went to the semi-finals and played against Rajasthan Royals, losing out to the latter. On the scoreboard of IPL 200, the team stood at fourth rank, with 15 points and net run rate of +0.342. On 14th July 2008, Mohammad Asif, a pace bowler with Delhi Daredevils, tested positive for an unnamed banned substance. His case is under the review of IPL's three-member drug tribunal of medical and legal experts.
